Great Sir Hughes Barn
History
Adjacent Barn Area

The earliest recorded date of the farm is 1211AD, before this it was part of the Crown Estate.

The name originates from a 14th century knight who served in the hundred years war.

It has been farmed for many centuries and has retained many of its historic features; including field names, boundaries and buildings.

Today "Great Sir Hughes" is still a working farm. We are a mixed farm growing crops, hay and haylage for the horse market. We also have a flock of rare breed southdown sheep.
